9/9/2023 0 Comments Leviton dimmer switch![]() ![]() Use this one for LEDs and you will get less than good results. ![]() For dimmable LEDs to work well, one needs a 'trailing edge' phase dimmer. Having noted the INCAD marking on the new dimmer I called and got your assurance, and wired it up. ![]() I was switching a string of 6 Pilar lights from incandescent to Dimmable LED, and had already snipped the cord where it was soldered to the old dimmer. Your guy I talked with said it should work with any light labeled Dimmable. This product is marked INCAD ONLY and for good reason: it is a traditional 'leading edge' phase dimmer suitable for incandescent lights only. 2 LED dimmers are needed for Dimmable LED lights.The dimmer has good range from high to low, stays on as it moved from low to high and lets you know that it is off with a click. The switch worked very well, was small enough to hide and was able to take the 2 wire cloth wrapped twisted wire. I bought this dimmer to be able to adjust a unique cut glass lamp shaped as a bird house on an antique post from the 1800' s in our sunroom. Dims the bulbs without flickering and with good range. Installed this in-line dimmer in 5 mins and it’s absolutely perfect. ![]() I built a lamp and bought fancy LED bulbs for it and they were much brighter than anticipated. The inline dimmer was easy to install and works great with an led bulb. Love it, works well classic look easy to install thanks It has a nice vintage vibe, comes with easy to follow instructions, very easy to install and works like a charm! The cord to my lamp is not lightweight and I have to make adjustments to the in and out holes -via a Dremel grinder. One problem I didn' t think of, is the dimmer' s in and out holes are made for the lightly insulated cord. Perhaps this mood lamp will induce my wife to be more loving. Shipped ultra-fast and a reputable brand name. Snake Head had what I couldn' t find elsewhere in southern Michigan to fit a 1970 cactus lamp. These DO NOT WORK with our round or 3-wire cords!.Works with all of our 2-wire cloth covered electrical wire (twisted and parallel flat wire).This listing is for the Leviton Dimmer switch only (a quantity of 1 = 1 switch!!! Cut your "hot" wire in half, strip your ends (we recommend a small piece of electrical tape when using our cloth wire), and attach one end of your "hot" wire to one screw terminal, and attach the other end to the other. Your cord (make sure you have no power going to it!) will have 2 wires, the "neutral" wire will bypass the switch, just run it along the space in the bottom. Don't wast time with cheap dimmers that will fail or fry up in a short period of time.Īll of our Edison bulbs (LED and incandescent) are fully compatible with these dimmers. As long as your bulb is marked as "dimmable" (and of course, any incandescent filament), these dimmers will work beautifully. 3) Consistent output: cheap dimmers are known for flickering and flashing, especially with today's higher efficiency bulbs. 2) Full range: these will get your bulb as low and as high is it is capable of.
